Obviously, it's not quite as simple to swap out licensed cars for generic ones when the whole point of the game is the cars themselves. In fact, a number of shows had to do that back when they first came to DVD. Plenty of old shows have had to have their soundtracks replaced with generic music because of licensing rights in the streaming era not being compatible with how the music was licensed in the first place. The analogue to television is music rights. I can't think of a single Netflix original production that I can't go and stream on Netflix right now, for example. Not to say this wasn't predictable, but I didn't expect it so soon in the service's lifecycle. Having the first-party studio content guaranteed from day 1 to forever was legitimately part of the reason I purchased a bunch of subscription cards. I'm just going to point out the obvious: The entire point of GamePass is NOT having to put down the $10 to "permanently" have a license to FM7.
